Something Smells Funny Here

Hey, long time no post...

I passed an exit Sign that only had these two lines on it...

"Dookie"
"Violet Town"

Same exit to smell the Flowers and the Poo!

Dont you think if you lived in Dookie (or on it), you would like to be close to Violet Town

arg

I have let this go again!
I Keep Trying , and it just doesnt happen for me...

I have been real busy with the new job... I find myself on the road from 7:30 or 8:00 every morning, until sometims 7:30 at night.  There are some times that I am home by 4 pm but thats not very often.

The main proplem is that I keep getting lost! Yes, even with a GPS!... it says turn after I am halfway thru the intersection...   How is that possible?   I have even had it tell me to turn right, when it should have been left, then tell me to make a U turn on a divided highway!  It's a good car, but not that good!

Once again, I will try to do better!

It's a little late to take any pictures of outside but heres some of the room.. This room has everything... including the kitchen sink!

Looks like I will be staying here for the next couple of days because it is kinda in the middle of all the shops we will see on Wednesday and Thursday.

Best Western Lakeside Lodge Motel, Lismore NSW

I tried to get a panorama of this place, unfortunately it didn't quite work right

"Nestled on the shores of Lismore Lake, Best Western Lakeside Lodge Motel is a haven of comfort and tranquility. Each of our 15 large, spacious and comfortable rooms overlook the lake. While sitting on your private patio, sip on a glass of wine or a cool drink from the mini bar and just enjoy the serenity. The motel is set on approximately two acres of manicured parkland's and there is an easy walking path all the way around Lismore Lake. Why not take a leisurely stroll while viewing the many and varied species of bird life that live on and around the lake. In easy proximity to both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Lismore is part of the Rainbow Region of Northern New South Wales, which boasts lush rain forest and green rolling hills. You’ll feel welcome and begin to unwind from the moment you arrive in this warm and friendly environment. Your hosts Brian, Barbara and Keri look forward to meeting you soon."

I must say that they are pretty close to right. Very nice after a Long day of riding around in a car stopping from place to place to show off some of our products.

I miss my Marie! I bet she would have loved this place!

New Job started today!

What an event!!!

First Stop... Train Station, 7:00 am

To my dismay, I missed the train. Stood right there and watched it come and go, and there was not one thing I could do. Mondays, it appears as though you have to be there early to ensure that you have an extra 20 minutes or so to get your ticket. It looks like everyone visits ticket window on Mondays to purchase a ticket for the entire week. Finally got my ticket, and waited for the next train to show up.

Second stop... Bus lane at Wynwyrd Station

I have never seen so many bus stops all lined up and down the streets. The only problem, is there were two streets lined with bus stops, and I was on the wrong one. Finally I figured it out, just in time to watch the buss pull out! Arg!!!!. Within about 10 minutes there was another one, and boarded only to have to ask to go to a stop that I just flat out could not pronounce “Warringah”. So, the bus driver fortunately understood what I was trying to say, and had a good laugh. On the bus I went, only after asking how many stops there were before we got there. I thought after he said 3 that it must be closer than I thought. Down the road we went… with me watching very closely the slinky effect of the bus… it was one long bus, with the slinky thing in the middle. It wound its way thru the city, and onto and over the Bay Bridge. After about 20 minutes I was starting to get just a bit concerned because we had yet to reach the first stop.

45 minutes after the trip began we were finally at my stop. Of the bus I bounded… looking at the time. Wow… 9:30! And I still had to walk to the new office.

Of course, I miss-read the map… and off I go in the wrong direction! Thankfully only for about a block. Turned back… passed by the bus stop again… and was on my way!

Got there… finally at about 9:45… when was I supposed to be there? 9:00am!!!!

All was good, the new boss told me to get there when I got here! I think he knew I was going to have issues!

Needless to say, I made it thru the day…. And things are going to be good…

I did not have to ride the bus and train home because I got the company Ute to drive for now…

and drove myself home, with the help of a GPS System… and that is an eventful story in itself and I will save it for another day!

Lordess of the Ring

After a very long wait, almost 4 years now, I decided (or should I say she decided) it was about time for Marie to finally become the Lordess of the Ring ...

so... last night, we went to have a look... put a deposit on one to hold it till this morning, got the money out of the bank...

and as if I was dared to do so... got down on one knee in the Jewelry store, and proposed with ring in hand.

To my delight.. she did not say "No, but thanks for the nice ring" and walk away.

Of course, in the middle of the mall, we did seem to draw a huge amount of attention, with one odd couple hanging onto each other, with the woman in tears just outside the shop entrance.. and the Shop keeps, clapping their hands, only to leave their respective counters to hug and congratulate us.

Wish you all could have been there to share it with us..

hey... see some of you in 3 days! whooohoooo..... sure wish Marie could come with me...
